Therapeutic Exercise
BENEFITS OF MASSAGE THERAPY
Therapeutic exercise is a physical therapy intervention encompassing a broad range of activities designed to restore or improve musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary and/or neurologic function.
Therapeutic exercise is any exercise that helps a person recover from an injury, increases their mobility, or helps them gain personal satisfaction. Although most people take up therapeutic exercise in order to improve their motor functions, some people have learned that it is a simple way to relieve stress. Therapeutic exercise can include:
- Running
- Swimming
- Biking
- Stretching
- Aerobics
- Or Other Exercises
Therapeutic exercise is most effective when it is done daily at regular intervals. If you are recovering from an injury you may have to include a doctor, but most people are capable of doing them alone. People with injuries will usually direct their therapeutic exercise towards the area of the body that is injured. By doing these exercises you can improve circulation, reduce rigidity, improve balance, and improve muscle strength.
Increasing Your Benefits from Therapeutic Exercise
If you are using therapeutic exercise as a mental comfort, it will be most effective when all of the stresses of life are removed. Turn your cell phone off and perform your exercises in a place that is the most comfortable for you. Some people prefer to exercise with their friends while others prefer to do it alone.
